The skull imagery is typical of objects associated with the celebration.\u00a0 Candles are an important element of the\u00a0<em>ofrenda<\/em>, or offering, set up to honor deceased relatives and ancestors.\u00a0 Often, four candles are placed on the top level of the altar signifying the four cardinal directions.\u00a0 One candle burns for each deceased family member is located elsewhere on the\u00a0<em>ofrenda<\/em>.\u00a0 One extra candle is included to ensure that no one will be forgotten.\u00a0 The light from these candles illuminates the way for the returning spirits of the deceased.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-2 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column
